On Friday, March 21st, the AHS speech team traveled to Plainview to compete in the District C2-4 Speech Competition. As expected, the day was filled with great competition. Many students barely missed making the final round and finished the day with superior ratings.

Also competing for the Bulldogs were William B. in Extemporaneous and Miranda P. in Humorous Prose.
Making the finals, which is composed of who the judges determine are the top 6 competitors in each event, were Hannah B. in Persuasive Speaking, Preselyn G. in Serious Prose, and Madison P. in Poetry. The top three speakers in each event qualify for the state tournament. After the final round of speaking was finished, Hannah received 4th place and Preselyn received 5th place in their respective event. Madison placed 3rd in Poetry and earned a spot in the state tournament on March 27th in Kearney!
