On Thursday, August 17th the sixth graders had a guest speaker in science class. Jen Corman is a wildlife biologist for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. One of her jobs is to do an annual count of the endangered American Burying Beetles in our part of Nebraska. Jen shared information about these carrion beetles, and how she counts them. She also showed the students live specimens of other beetles which are not endangered. The sixth graders learned a lot about these interesting insects. Thanks, Jen!
